Lecture on Phosphate Town Life Scheduled for November

The Lakeland History and Culture Center will host a lecture titled "Life In A Phosphate Town" with Richard A. Fifer on Thursday, November 7th at 5:30 PM. The event will take place at the Lakeland Public Library. Richard Fifer, who grew up in the phosphate mining town of Pierce until the age of 8, will share his personal experiences and extensive research on the phosphate industry in Central Florida.

Fifer is a member of the Board of the Polk County Historical Association and serves on the Polk County Historical Commission. The lecture will include presentations and highlights from his numerous written publications on the topic. Attendance does not require registration.
